A New Hype 
Just received my Star Trek door chime. I cannot determine how to open the battery door. It does not slide open nor does it pivot on a hinge. In addition there were no written instructions nor instructions on the unit. The vendor Think Geek did not know how to resolve this problem. Very poor design.
Solution found! Remove the screw on one side of the battery door and it comes off. I was confused at first, since this was the first time I have seen a battery compartment door with a screw. In fact the screw looks like it has nothing to do with the door. Excellent product, great sound.
